Part-Time Food Service Technician (3-Month Contract)

Hours: 15 – 20 hours per week 

Compensation: $22 – $25 per hour (based upon experience level)

At Halal Resource Group (HRG), we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, authentic culinary experiences. We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Part-Time Food Service Technician to join our team for an initial 3-month contract. In this role, you will play a crucial part in executing our meal programs and scaling up production to support client orders.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Preparation & Production: Prepare HRG signature meals, handle daily prep work, and dynamically respond to production requests. This includes supporting the execution and fulfillment of client orders, specifically serving and supporting vulnerable populations.

Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain high standards of food safety, including the proper cleaning and preparation of meats, maintaining a deep-cleaned kitchen station, and continuous sanitization of all food-contact surfaces.

SOP Compliance: Strictly follow all HRG Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for sanitation, food handling, and meal preparation.

Meal Packaging: Operate packaging hardware, including the tray-sealing machine (training will be provided), label products accurately, and ensure airtight seals for maximum quality control.

Inventory & Equipment Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels for all active culinary projects. Oversee the organization, storage, and maintenance of kitchen equipment, and immediately report any mechanical issues or supply shortages.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Proven experience as a cook or prep cook in a commercial kitchen environment. Experience with Halal food preparation is a major plus.

Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a flexible environment, shifting smoothly between standard prep and filling new client production orders.

Food Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation regulations, and deep-cleaning practices (ServSafe certification preferred).

Detail-Oriented: Ability to maintain precise inventory records and ensure airtight packaging quality.

Technical Aptitude: Comfort operating or learning to operate kitchen packaging machinery.

Reliability: Strong communication skills to report equipment and supply needs promptly.

Flexibility: Ability to work part-time hours for a 3-month period, with openness to extension based on business demand.
